This Accessibility Guide provides practical information about accessibility features at our hotel to support guests with physical, sensory, or other access needs when planning their stay. Sections appear only where relevant to this property.

The Gibson Hotel is accessible by the following options:
By car:
Our hotel is located 2 kilometres from the Dublin Port Tunnel, so you can avoid the traffic of Dublin City Centre! The Point Square Car Park is located underneath The Gibson Hotel, with over 800 car parking spaces, including more than 20 accessible spaces.
By Bus:
The Gibson Hotel is located less than 3 kilometres from Dublin’s main bus station, Bus Áras. Bus transfers are available to and from destinations all around Ireland.
The first stop for the Dublin Bus N4 route departs from North Wall Avenue, less than 200 metres from the hotel.

The Dublin Express stops 300 metres from the hotel on the banks of the Liffey. This route goes directly to and from Dublin Airport.

By taxi:
Taxis can pick up or drop off guests directly outside the front door of the hotel. If you would like any assistance with booking a taxi you can contact our hotel reception who will organise one for you. Accessible taxis can also be organised.
By Train:
Heuston Train Station is located 6 kilometres from the hotel, while Connolly train station is located 3 kilometres from the hotel.
Tram:
The Luas tramlines stop is located 50 metres from the front door of the hotel. This tramline links to the city centre, Heuston train station, and Bus Áras bus station (200 metres away from Connolly train station.)
Airport:
The Gibson Hotel is located 12km from Dublin airport, with easy access via the Port Tunnel. Ferry Port: Dublin Port is located 1 kilometre away from The Gibson Hotel.
4. Entrance & Reception
Parking
The Point Square Car Park is located underneath the hotel. There are over 20 accessible car parking spaces available. The closest accessible car parking space is located on minus three, 10 metres away from the guest elevators. Elevators from the car park go directly to hotel reception. This is a step-free entrance route. As this car park is not operated by the hotel, charges apply.
Entrance
The hotel entrance is step free and fully accessible. To enter the hotel, guests pass through two sets of automatic doors that open on approach. Hotel reception is located on the third floor. To access reception, guests can choose between travelling up three sets of escalators, or by using a glass elevator
Luggage Assistance: If you require assistance with luggage upon arrival or departure please contact our hotel reception in advance of your arrival and assistance will be arranged.
5. Lift Access
- All guest bedrooms can be accessed via elevators to the respective bedroom floor.
- Three of the hotel’s meeting rooms are located on the fourth floor, which is accessible via an elevator or staircase.
6. Accessible Public Toilets
There are wheelchair accessible toilets located in both the main lobby of the hotel and in the conference and events centre.
7. Accessible Bedrooms
The hotel has a wide selection of rooms that include separate shower units.
- All of our rooms include a fridge as standard.
- To create additional space, furniture can be rearranged on request
- Balcony rooms with step free access are available on request.
There are 13 wheelchair accessible bedrooms in the hotel
- Each room has step free access, wheelchair accessible doors, emergency and assistance alarms
- The bed height in wheelchair accessible rooms is 680 millimetres.
- The space underneath the bed (from floor to bed base) is 240 millimetres.
- All wheelchair accessible rooms are double rooms as standard.
- Accessible interconnecting rooms are available, between one accessible double room and one standard double room.
8. Accessible Bathrooms / En‑Suites
- All wheelchair accessible rooms have a roll in shower as standard. These showers have fixed shower seats as standard.
- There is an emergency assistance alarm in all of our wheelchair accessible rooms as standard.
9. Dining & Social Spaces
There is step free access to all public areas.
- All food and beverage facilities are located on the third floor which can entirely be reached without steps or ramps. It is required to use an elevator or escalator to access the third floor.
- All guest bedrooms can be accessed via elevators to the respective bedroom floor.
- Three of the hotel’s meeting rooms are located on the fourth floor, which is accessible via an elevator or staircase.
- The hotel’s relaxation room is accessible via a short and gently sloped ramp on the sixth floor. The sixth floor is accessible via a fully accessible elevator or staircase.
- All elevators are wide and deep enough to accommodate a standard wheelchair.
- Guest stairways are available to walk between floors from the third to sixth floor. These stairs have handrails and high contrast edges on the first and last step of every flight of stairs.
- An evacuation chair is available in case of emergency.
Restaurant and Bar:
- The Hemi Bar and Coda Restaurant are both fully accessible, with sufficient space between tables and chairs to allow for the passing of a wheelchair.
- Table service is available as standard in the bar and restaurant.
- Tables have 70 centimetres of clearance underneath the table top to allow for easy access.
- The hotel caters to gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, lactose free and religious dietary restrictions.
10. Assistance Dogs
Facilities are available for assistance dogs including water bowls, and toilet area outside the hotel.
11. Safety & Staff Training
- General Assistance: Assistance is available for guests 24 hours a day.
- Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan: All guests are invited to complete a personal emergency evacuation plan at check in.
- Familiarisation Visits: Guests are welcome to attend the hotel for familiarisation visits prior to their stay. These visits should be organised by calling hotel reception.
- Emergency alarm with flashing lights: There is an emergency alarm with strobe or flashing lights, to alert deaf guests to a fire or other emergency scenario. These facilities are present in our 13 accessible bedrooms.
- Designated Quiet Space: The hotel relaxation room offers a quiet space for guests to relax and enjoy the sauna and steam room.
- Wheelchair/Scooter Charging Point: Guests are welcome to charge their mobility devices using one of the hotel’s standard three pin plug sockets stations.
Emergency and Medical Information
- The nearest hospital is the Maher hospital situated 4 kilometres from the hotel.
- The hotel has a list of local doctor on call services available by contacting reception.
- There is a pharmacy located underneath the hotel in the Point Square Shopping Centre.
- There is a defibrillator kept on site in the hotel.
