can I still stay at a hotel?

  • we are delighted to welcome all guests from within Ireland back to the gibson hotel following government guidelines and protective procedures

travelling from outside Ireland:

if you are arriving into ireland from another country, we ask that all guests follow all public health and government guidelines including where you are required to complete a pcr test pre-arrival, to isolate for 14 days and/or where permitted test after 5 days of isolation. a list of countries are presently on the travel exemption list where isolation is not required.  please refer to for a list of these countries. dalata hotel group will take the necessary measures as outlined in the government guidelines to protect the welfare and safety of all guests and team members.

change of date: should you wish to change your booking date,  you can amend your reservations online or direct with the hotel.

cancellations: should you wish to cancel your booking please cancel your reservation online or direct with the hotel, no cancellation fees will apply.

we continue to maintain the highest standards in hygiene across the hotel. in order to minimise the risk and prevent the spread of covid-19, we have implemented strict hygiene procedures. these procedures have been developed in conjunction with direction from the health service executive (ireland) & world health organisation and include:

  • daily hotel team briefings to ensure enhanced operational protocols.
  • new operational measures across all departments.
  • increased frequency of cleaning in all areas & an additional sterilisation processes.
  • covid compliance officers in the hotel.
  • provision of alcohol-based sanitisers throughout our hotel.

flexible bookings

we offer a flexible booking policy on all standard rates available on and we are making necessary adjustments to our individual booking policies to give you extra peace of mind.

hotel services

all guests travelling for essential business travel are permitted to stay as normal and use the hotel facilities.

we continue to take guidance from the hse (ireland) on any further recommended restrictions. changes to our services include:

  • online check-in and online check-out for contactless experience.
  • detailed pre-stay email and welcome information.
  • rooms are sprayed with sterilising solution before and after each clean.
  • touch point cleaning, extra disinfection of high touch areas including door handles, light switches, sockets and remote control.
  • de-clutter in-room amenities including guest directory, paper and pens.
  • room charge option for meals and drinks in our restaurants, room service and click & collect services.

restaurant & bar

in compliance with government requirements, we are ensuring all social distancing and hygiene measures are followed in our bar and restaurant areas

  • coda restaurant and our dining areas are setup with sufficient space between tables to allow physical distancing.
  • all food and drink orders will be taken at your table and served to your table.
  • ‘click and collect’ and increased in-room dining options available.
  • we encourage cashless or contactless payments in the restaurant and lounge.

in line with current irish government guidelines essential conferences, meetings, training and educational programmes are permitted with minimum numbers.

the gibson hotel offer’s superb spacious meeting & events facilities and in the current challenging environment, we are especially committed to providing excellent service to our meeting delegates & event guests in a safe environment.

our conference, meeting and events facilities are important elements of our “gibson keep safe program” ensuring the health and safety of our guests, delegates and colleagues. we are very fortunate to have a spacious conference & event’s centre as well as generous public areas in which we can ensure social distancing is fully observed.

what to expect

details of meeting facilities, room set-up, service & procedures as well as food & beverage service & menus will be sent to your meeting organiser in advance of your meeting taking place, so you know what to expect.

meeting organisers will be asked to arrive 30 minutes before the event start time & check-in at the hotel reception on arrival. although your welcome may feel a bit different and your meeting & events co-ordinator will be wearing a mask, you can be confident of the same friendly welcome and excellent service with a smile.

additional signage will advise delegates what rooms they are in and directions. hand sanitising stations have been installed at all event spaces and signage is in place to remind our valued guests to maintain socially distant.

meeting & events

a vigorous cleaning programme will be carried out throughout the day with key touchpoints being frequently cleaned & rooms being sanitised at least twice daily using a sanitising spray.

reduced capacities

we are delighted that our hotels meeting & events facilities are now fully operational and can be set up to reflect physical distancing with a suitable spacing of a minimum of 2-metres between delegates. all seating plans aim to maximise the use of space, while also providing a productive, safe and compliant event. so, whether you’re looking for a classroom or theatre style, have an exhibition or a banquet, we can deliver this for you in a safe manner.

table set up

to limit touchpoints, minimal stationery will be provided in each room and there will be no stationary supply box provided. separate bottles of water & glasses will be supplied for each delegate.

food service

food service as far as possible will be served within the meeting room. self-service and buffets have been replaced by service of food and beverage for larger gatherings of 10+ delegates, with tea, coffee & food being served by a member of staff whom will wear ppe (personal protective equipment), with perspex screens between them and delegates, as standard from a food station.

all scones, pastries, biscuits, sandwiches, soups will be individually packed or wrapped and served with napkins and disposable cutlery, and plates as necessary.
